WARNING: I’m one of those nutty foodies that doesn’t eat garbage.
So basically if you don’t care about your health and well-being, if you’ve been sucked into the typical American diet that includes having no will power or determination to take care of yourself, then stop reading and go to Taco Bell.
Consider this post a bit of a preview of what kind of recipes I’ll be reviewing on this blog.
Also, please note- I enjoy these bloggers for their recipes first, their stories second. How and what they write on their recipe posts is irrelevant when you’re hungry.
In no particular order, here we go:
-TASTY YUMMIES (http://tasty-yummies.com/) The recipe library offered here is very extensive and very organized. She makes using things like tahini and turmeric seem like a no-brainer. If you visit this site you’ll be able to plan a really nice menu for the week and you will become like 50% smarter along the way.
-PHYSICAL KITCHNESS (http://physicalkitchness.com/) This chick is one of those super-mom’s you just know is always doing like 19 things at once and getting them all done right and on time. Her knack for recipe innovation is top notch though. For you Whole30 buffs out there, there’s a section just for you!
THE DEFINED DISH (http://www.thedefineddish.com/) I LOVE the design of this site. It’s elegant and busy at the same time. Once you’re there, you’ll want to spend time looking around. There’s everything from cocktails to Whole30 recipes. I made the Spaghetti Squash Pad Thai last night and nearly fell in love.
PALEOMG (http://paleomg.com/) Ok so this site offers pure entertainment with every new post. Safe to say the author does not mince words and does not get told No very often. Combine that with a ton of great recipes and exercise tips – oh and some links for some really great fashion- and you have a new favorite site.
DETOXINISTA (http://detoxinista.com/) I’ve made several of the recipes and even bought the book and I have never been disappointed. Each recipe has perfect measurements and easy ingredients. If you want to get established with things like homemade almond milk or using different flours and sweetners- this is your best place.
PRIMAL GOURMET (http://cookprimalgourmet.com/) A foodie DUDE!! How cool is that! There’s so many girl foodies out there in their spandex and mini vans. I was so happy when I discovered this guy. He’s a talented chef that just wants to share his stories and recipes and help the rest of the world learn to love good food as much as he does. Can’t say No to that right?
THE WHOLE SMITHS (http://www.thewholesmiths.com/) I just love how down to earth this site is. The recipes aren’t challenging, the posts are always pleasant, and the occasional bits of feel-good humor just complete the package. The author is humble and practical. Definitely worth checking out
So you get the idea? Of course there are others that I didn’t list here, but this should help define what kinds of recipes and dishes I will be talking about. Feel free to suggest any of your favorite foodies, too. Lord knows there’s tons out there!
